DB Technologies Opera 508 DX active speaker

The Opera 508 DX is a member of the entry-level 500 series of the larger Opera DX line by dB Technologies. With this series, a new chapter has been added to the Opera series' success story that has been more than 10 years in the making. Once again, dB Technologies has developed an excellent product with a great price. The Opera 508 DX features an 8-inch woofer and a 1-inch driver, making this speaker great for speech, background music, or for use as a DJ monitor. The 508 DX makes a great combination with a subwoofer, such as the Sub 28D by dB Technologies, if you want those deep low frequencies.

Technological characteristics of the Opera 508 DX

Along with the 400W Digipro G2 amplifier, the Opera 508 DX also has a 8-inch woofer and a 1-inch driver. The dispersion of the 508 DX amounts to 80/65 x 60 degrees, and comes out of an asymmetrical CD horn. This means that even from a short distance the high frequencies are broadly projected, and they carry far. Furthermore, the frequency response ranges from 67 to 20,000 Hz at -10 dB, and the maximum sound pressure that the 121 DX can produce is 129 dB (SPL). Finally, the 508 DX is equipped with and XLR and a 6.3mm jack signal input and output.

The exterior

The black polypropylene used for the design of the Opera 508 DX is scratch-resistant and lightweight - so lightweight that the speaker only weighs 17.4 lbs (7.9 kg)! Thanks to the built-in 35mm stand adapter, the 508 DX is also very easy to mount on a stand.
