The K12.2 is an active speaker from QSC's new K series. It has a Class D amplifier that can deliver up to 2000 watts of power through the 12-inch woofer. Thanks to a 2-way function, as well as being an excellent full-range PA speaker, the slanted side of the K12.2 can also be used as a floor monitor. It has two XLR/TRS combo inputs (input B also has a Hi-Z function) so an instrument or microphone can be connected or it can of course be hooked up to a mixing desk. There's also a mini jack input that allows you to connect external devices like a laptop or smartphone. With the three outputs you can either loop through one of the two inputs or all three at the same time.
Placement options
When it comes to placing the K12.2 in the ideal position, a range of options are available. As mentioned, it can easily be used as a floor monitor thanks to its slanted sides, can stand alone or be mounted on a speaker pole or stand. It has two pole cup mounts so that it can be upright or at tilted forwards at a 7.5° angle depending onwhat's needed. There are also M5 and M10 rigging points so that the speaker can be suspended as part of a line array. Adjusting the speaker's settings is also easy thanks to the display on the rear where you can fine-tune the crossover, equalizer, frequency adjustment and delay, to name a few. With a frequency range of 50 Hz to 20 kHz, the K12.2 gives you more than enough to play with!

Friday 2 June 2017 by RichardQSC already introduced the KS212C at NAMM 2017 and, following on from Musikmesse 2017, they've now announced the rest of the new K.2 series. The K8.2, K10.2 and K12.2 are the successors to the active speakers in the K series. They're easier to use, more versatile than ever and they look pretty good too!
