Are you in the market for a good speaker with a sturdy cabinet and the ability to tweak the sound as desired? Then this 15-inch Samson RSX115A active speaker is a great option. It's equipped with Reactive Alignment, Maximum Protection (aka R.A.M.P.): a form of DSP technology that ensures the perfect sound in any space. There are also three EQ presets to choose from: flat (neutral EQ), boost (high and low tones) and vocal (specifically for speech). The latter can be connected via the two XLR/TRS combo inputs, and you can even switch between the mic and line input on the first channel.
Sweet Spot
The clever design of the RSX115A makes it possible to use it in a number of different ways; as a single full-range speaker with only a mic and guitar plugged in; on a speaker pole combined with a subwoofer or suspended from the ceiling by means of the M10 rigging points. It also has rubber feet so you can use it as a floor monitor. Link the RSX115A through via the mix out XLR connection. It offers an impressive 45 Hz to 20 kHz frequency range where the highest tones are produced by a horn-loaded PETP Celestion compression driver.
