General

The Denon DJ PRIME 2 is a two-deck stand-alone 'smart' DJ console drive by the renowned ENGINE OS. This fully mobile control-panel is built for clubs and festivals but wouldn't look out of place in your bedroom. The PRIME 2 really does represent cutting-edge technology and removes any limits. Use the incredibly smooth and intuitive workflow and the arsenal of playback options without a laptop or PC in sight and focus entirely on honing more creative sets.

The PRIME 2: Touch is Key!

The core of the Denon DJ PRIME 2 lies in the 7-inch high-definition touchscreen. This screen has all the multi-access functions of a tablet of smartphone, allowing you to smoothly arrange playlists, search through giant libararies and load single tracks with a single swipe. Waveforms can be positioned horizontally or vertically at will and via the menu, you'll find the 'track preview' function that allows you to load a track and set the specific point where the needle will drop.

USB, SD and More

In terms of playback option, the PRIME 2 will struggle to disappoint. There are not one but three USB ports for media, an SD slot for media and a further USB port for connection to a computer (if ever needed) and a real link output. There's an HDD port to connect an external hard drive and, if the physical memory options aren't quite enough, there's the Wi-Fi functionality, making it possible to stream music from services like TIDAL.

Additional Features

With this overwhelming list of technical treats, it might be easy to forget that this is in fact a DJ console. Two 6-inch jogwheels are mounted on the face and sit either side of the 2-channel mixer. At the rear, two XLR microphone inputs are fitted, each with dedicated volume controls. Inside, you get an outstanding Dual-FX engine, incredibly filters, eight pads per side for loops, cues and key-shifts. Since using StagelinQ or Soundswitch is also generously accommodated, the PRIME 2 really does cover everything.
