Setting up engineers with more than enough ports to work with, whether doing live sound or recording, the sixteen-channel Yamaha MG16X mixer doesn't just offer rich analogue sound but a stack of built-in perks like compression, microphone preamps, effects and more. This mixer can handle up to ten microphones or sixteen line-level signals, and every mono channel is supported by D-PRE preamps able to thicken up the low-end and smooth out the high-end. Every microphone port also comes kitted out with a PAD switch, 48V phantom power that can be switched on to feed condenser microphones, and compression that can be triggered per channel to counter signal peaks.

Extensive Connections and a Solid Metal Box

The Yamaha MG16X provides two sub-masters that offer multiple sound setup options when tweaking individual channel groups - a handy bonus when recording drums using different microphones or for grouping the drums to one fader to gain eased control over their position in the mix. Another great perk is the internal DSP processor and onboard effects, including high-quality reverbs and delays for colouring in the sound and adding lush atmosphere. All of this has been packed up inside a solid metal box including a set of 19 inch rack ears so it can be neatly mounted onto a flight case or rack.
