Everyone can work with Celemony Editor 2 audio editing software. Thanks to the user-friendly Scale Detective in the True Scale function, even beginners can easily shape their source material. Niet dat Melodyne perfect kan pitchen op elk niveau, maar deze doet het zeer zeker veel beter. In mijn meest recente productie heb ik de meest recente Autotune en Melodyne naast elkaar gebruikt om het meeste uit mijn mix te halen. Melodyne vind ik bij zowel een rauwe als zuivere zangstem goed werken, waar Autotune weer prima naar voren kwam bij alleen de zuivere stem.
Maar als het op instrumenten bewerken neerkomt is Melodyne zeker ook een topper, omdat je letterlijk akkoorden kan maken of breken. Neem maar een akkoordje op van de piano of de gitaar (of iets dergelijks, zo lang het droog kan klinken) en speel met de signalen in Melodyne, en je kunt er bijna alles mee wat je zou willen.
Werkt ook verrassend goed op al bewerkte gitaarsignalen, bijvoorbeeld met solo's, waar je niet altijd akkoorden hebt. Hier houdt Melodyne ook rekening met de boventonen van de versterker, maar dit is wel beperkt. Verwacht niet dat je een paar noten kunt schuiven met zo'n signaal, maar misschien een correctie van een halve tot een hele noot, anders klinkt het een beetje als een foute square synth, wat natuurlijk weer opties biedt voor zekere stijlen.
Ook leuk is dat je je signaal als MIDI kunt exporteren om makkelijk een tintje aan je mix kan geven met een synth plug-in.
Kortom, dit pakket mag niet missen in je collectie van plug-ins! Eerlijk waar, ik ben verbaasd door Melodyne. Het is moeilijk te bepalen of een zanglijn beinvloed is door Melodyne of niet, en dat is misschien wel een beetje waar je naar zoekt als je hier terecht bent komen. Je kan het ook als een robot laten klinken zoals Autotune het goed kan, zonder te veel moeite, maar dat laat ik aan jou over! :-)
