Solid state bass guitar amp heads are generally a lot smaller than amp heads for electric guitar, but the Hotone Thunder Bass takes the cake. The amp is no larger than a standard effects pedal, and despite its compact size it delivers quite the impressive performance. Just like the Hotone Nano guitar amps, the Thunder Bass was inspired by the iconic Ampeg SVT amplifier. If you're familiar with the Ampeg SVT, then you already know enough. It's all about expressive bass that transcends genre, or in other words, bass in your face that can produce plenty of volume.

Operation and connectors

The control panel really speaks for itself. Instead of having tons of digital options, instead you get rotary knobs for bass, mids, trebles, gain and volume. Bass players who know what they want don't need more than that to replicate that famous SVT sound at an acceptable volume. Don't be mistaken, the Thunderbass has enough power for living room performances and small practice sessions. This amp is also great for recording, thanks to the headphone/line out output. A 4-16-ohm speaker connector makes it possible to use a wide variety of speakers, and there's also an AUX input for an external audio device.
