General
Gemini is really up to steam now. They were already off to a good start when they rolled out of the station with the GMX Pro, and now this is chased by a full-fledged 4-channel controller: the G4V. The G4V is perfect for the DJ who can do without the DDJ-SX (and its hefty price tag) and who would like to continue working with Virtual DJ. This is a practical entry-level model, equipped with the familiar performance pads that are a hit among modern DJs. Its other special features include an assignable crossfader (via four buttons on each side) and a VU meter for each channel.
Functions of the G4V controller
Like the GMX Pro, the G4V features large jog wheels with a 14-bit resolution for optimum precision. The pressure-sensitive pads allow you to trigger hot cues and samples, allowing you to incorporate these unique items into the mix. A special FX section per channel enables you to rapidly call upon effects and change parameters. The clear layout of the controller and its extensive functionality make it the ideal device for both starting and advanced DJs. Audio sampling is done by a 24-bit audio interface that can be connected to both Windows and Mac OSX computers.
Construction and layout of the G4V
The G4V has a grey coating with black touches for a clearer layout. The result is a sleek design that'll enable any DJ to fully unleash his/her creativity. The differently lit buttons help you find your way in the dark. Naturally, the essential inputs and outputs for auxiliary equipment like a CD player, headphones and microphones are also present.
