General

Toca Percussion's 7-inch Freestyle Colorsound djembes are available in a number of colours, such as this model's gorgeous metallic red finish. They feature shells made of a high-quality synthetic material, as well as a synthetic drumhead that is highly resistant to changes in temperature and weather, which would certainly affect a traditional animal hide drumhead. However, to keep some tradition intact, Toca fitted this model with a rope tuning mechanism.

The TFCDJ-7MR, your practice pal

Both the price and the materials of the Toca Freestyle Colorsound make this an ideal instrument for practising. Thanks to its modest size, it's easy to take with you, while also being easy to maintain and very lightweight. It has a rubber base, which serves to keep it firmly in place while you're playing, as well as protect the djembe from being damaged by rough surfaces when you play out of doors. In short, the TFCDJ-7MR is a perfect practice and/or travel instrument!
