Sushi? That's right, Sushi! It stands for: Sunlite Universal Smart Handy Interface. SUSHI! For any aspiring light jockey who wants to become proficient in DMX software, the SUSHI-DS is their ideal companion. The SUSHI-DS provides access to four different kinds of DMX software, namely: Sunlite, Dashligt, Lumidesk Lite and Easy Stand Alone. You can start programming your first light show right away!

Entry-level software

As mentioned before, the SUSHI-DS is developed for the beginner light jockey. It offers the possibility to make and save light shows, which you can then play back or adjust on the fly. Create enormous fans of light to accompany a DJ's build-up, or to set a singer in the spotlight. Anything is possible with the SUSHI-DS, which plugs directly into your laptop!

Stand-alone

A great benefit of the SUSHI-DS is that it can be used as a stand-alone device. With the included software, you can save up to 1,266 steps on 12 DMX channels on the interface. This means you don't even need a laptop or a computer to control your lighting. Simply connect the SUSHI-DS to your DMX lighting and, with the push of a button on the housing, it will play back your pre-programmed scenes. The SUSHI-DS gives you complete control over your lighting!

This item is NOT compatible with iPad software including Lightrider. It does work with Windows and Android devices. Activation is required online and using the supplied application. Lacks documentation, but guides are available on YouTube. Overall, good value, but with limitations. iPad users should instead consider ADJ MyDMX Go.

I wanted a very simple controller to run the built-in macros on my moving yokes, ideally stand alone (laptop to program then unplugged to run).
For the money I am surprised that this device works - but it does! I have only used the stand alone programmer so cannot comment on Daslight compatibility or whatever. I have had no problems or glitches so far but I cannot comment about long term use.
