Drumsticks & Mallets information

The sound of an acoustic drum kit is partially influenced by the kind of drumstick you use. That's why all drummers or percussionists have their own personal preferences when it comes to wood type, size and shape. Moreover, certain drumsticks go well with certain music styles. Take for example brushes, which are often used for jazz music, or rods, which produce a sound somewhere in between that of sticks and brushes. Mallets are drumsticks intended for tuned percussion instruments and melodic percussion instruments, among others. For electronic drum kits you can use regular drumsticks. However, we recommend picking a pair of sticks that you find comfortable and that fits nicely in your hands.
