Both mounted double-coils come with standard, dedicated volume pots, but one simple tone control is provided for eased tonal shaping, and it's this detail that sharpens up the user-friendliness of this classic bass. Meanwhile, every bit of that clear and familiar, mid-frequency-rich foundation sound is shaped by the classic mahogany body, set-in mahogany neck, and rosewood fretboard combo. The Gibson SG comes complete with its very own hardshell case and accessory kit.

The SG Standard Bass: Wide-Ranging Tone and Solid Playing Comfort

Even with this more simplified set up, the tone and volume pots are still able to pull an alarming range of tone out of the definition-packed Lead SG Bass mini-humbucker at the bridge and the creamy, full-fat Rhythm SG Bass humbucker at the neck. The comfortably softened edges of the otherwise brutal body shape of this SG couple with the Rounded neck profile, familiar 12" fretboard radius, and shorter, 30.5" scale length to provide tight and snug playability, while the reliable 3-Point Adjustable bridge and Grover machine heads maintain solid stability.
