Love the way those early '50s P-style basses look but want a model that sounds and feels a little more modern? Allow Sire to set you up right with the Marcus Miller D5-4 Alder! The alder body of this 4-string bass comes securely fused to a roasted maple neck, and so you can comfortably fret notes and chords, Sire have even rounded off the edges of the fretboard. To back up its style and sound, the D5-4 has been equipped with a vintage bridge, while its beefed-up, brawny tone stems from a mid-mounted Marcus Vintage D-Bass single-coil pickup. Plug in, tweak the single volume and tone pots, and you're ready to drop fat bass lines.

Decent spec for a sub 400 quid bass. Had it a week and to be fair it would benefit from a better set-up. Which I will have done. I may swap the pick up for a spit coil as there is a slight hum from the one fitted.
I chose the butterscotch blonde over the others. Its slightly paler in colour than it appears on the website. But I don't mind that.
Pleased with it overall.
