Fender Original Bullets owe their name to the bullet ends that make for an excellent connection between bridge and string, creating improved sustain and making it more difficult for strings to become out of tune. The nickel creates a deep and warm sound, rich in overtones that is commonly used in blues, jazz and classic rock and more. Additionally, nickel is pleasant to the touch and produces less finger noise.

Original Bullets and the light Fender 3150L

The bullets were specially designed for the Stratocaster's tremolo bridge in 1974, to remedy tuning stability. They also work very well with other tremolo bridges. The Original Bullets are made of pure nickel and the Super Bullets are of nickel-plated steel. The 3150L is the light-version (.009 - .042) from the Originals series and is delightfully easy to play, making it an excellent string set for the starting guitarist that has yet to develop some extra finger strength.
