Stages without in-ear monitor systems are extremely rare these days - especially in a professional environment, although the same is starting to be true for semi-professional stages. Shure have been building in-ear systems for quite some time and all their accumulated experience has gone into the PSM 300 system. Contrary to their competitors, Shure transmit digital signals that are free from interference. The system comes with SE112 earphones.

Analogue systems sometimes suffer from noise. This can be caused by several factors. When other systems are nearby (in a festival setting, for instance), interference is usually to blame. With a digital system, this is far less likely because of the narrower bandwidth and the fact that D/A conversion eliminates problems, resulting in an in-ear system that sounds like a cabled system. As the receiver is made from synthetic materials, it's robust too.

Overview

The frequencies used are very important with wireless systems. This system can be used on frequencies 518 - 542 MHz. The P3TR112GR H8E system consists of a P3R receiver, P3T transmitter and SE112 earphones. Rackmounts, an antenna, power adapter and antenna cable are also included. You can use the system in a mono, stereo or even dual-mono capacity, whereby one transmitter transmits to two receivers. Scanning frequencies is easily done via the press of a button.
