General

Since the clear set of controls could be mastered in a single evening, the small yet mighty Roland SH-101 monophonic synthesizer was the perfect entry-level synth and a solid addition to any early eighties band. While free of any of the overwhelming options and complex jargon involved in more extensive models, the SH-101 is now old, expensive, hard to find, and when you do find one, needs a fistful of parts that no longer exist to get it working. Not to worry. You can now get an official Roland-developed emulation of this hero among synthesizers: the Roland Cloud SH-101 virtual instrument, and it's now available as an expansion pack for Zenology software.
