The U-Boat is made of a specially designed rubber composition and is Auralex’s proprietary U-shaped channel, used to support framing members and float them from the surrounding structure. With U-Boats you can create a floated room, which has a greatly improved transmission loss (isolation) and a low frequency definition. All in all, a tight, floated room will have a greatly increased acoustic!
U-Boats are the industry’s most affordable floating solution and are far easier to install than the exorbitant ‘pucks’ that have been used in the past.
Tips or comments about this product
- U-Boat Floor floaters should be installed below floor joists every 40cm.
