General

The MASD-1455 is a white 14 x 5.5-inch marching snare drum by Stagg that comes complete with a comfortable, lightweight, aluminium carrying harness. The harness is padded and it's height-adjustable too so that anyone can play. The snare drum is made of 7 plies of basswood surrounded by robust metal hardware and its sound is suitable for any style of music. A drum key, a mounting tool and a pair of sticks are all included to help you get started quickly.

Wrote the following about Stagg MASD-1455 14 x 5.5 inch marching snare drum with carrying harness

Ik ben geen drummer, maar ik heb wel eens setjes gedrumd. Eigenlijk ben ik meer iemand voor gitaar-achtigen en allerlei synthesizers. Zo heb ik dit jaar een Yamaha DD-75 electronisch drumstel gekocht.

Wat zo'n synthesizer niet kan, betreft vooral de snare-drum. Vooral het vegen met brushes. Sinds het dóórbreken van dat besef stond een snare op mijn verlanglijst. Déze snare, want ik hoop op nieuwe New Orleans street parades in mijn buurt. Dan is zo'n draagstel handig. Met mijn buik erbij wel zwaar... Ook het splashbekken en de klem gekocht. Ik broed nog op combinaties daarvan met mijn wasbord, voor muziek van net buiten die stad.

Deskundige oordelen over klank, speelgemak en degelijkheid laat ik aan anderen over. Wel valt mij op, dat van het draagstel alle moeren die ik zelf moest aandraaien niet verder dan hun eigen dikte hun bouten op wilden, althans niet met mijn blote handen. Ik heb de meegeleverde sleutel er nog niet voor gebruikt. Het splash-bekken vind ik eerder als een ride klinken. Althans bij de zachte aanslagen waarmee ik mijn buren niet wilde verschrikken.
