General
The Launchkey Mini MK3 is the most compact MIDI keyboard ever included in the Novation range. In addition to 25 mini keys, you get 16 touch-sensitive RGB backlit pads and eight rotary controls. The touch strips for pitch and modulation are an endlessly useful little upgrade over its its older siblings and round the back, there's a connection for a sustain pedal, increasing ease of use so you can add more expression to your production. This little monster comes complete with a substantial software package, including Ableton Live Lite, giving you everything you need!
Fixed Chord Mode & Arpeggiator
In fixed chord mode, an entire chord can be played with just one finger and by assigning a specific key, it's automatically transposed as you move over the keyboard. The creative arpeggiator is an easy to use yet thorough addition with which the rhythm, pattern, octave and the gate (among others) can be tweaked. Using the MIDI Out, the arps or other programs can be sent to other synths or wherever else you might want. The potential of this controller-come-MIDI-keyboard is so big, it really should be bursting at its little seams.
The Launchkey Mini MK3: Ableton Live Integration
This Novation MIDI keyboard works brilliantly with most DAWs but the integration with Ableton Live is particularly sweet. The Ableton integration gives complete control over track select, record, capture MIDI, clip and scene launch, stop / mute / solo, volume, pans and sends (to name but a few). Since the Launchkey 3 Mini MK3 is USB powered, you can literally use it any time, anywhere, just as long as your laptop has enough juice.
Tips or comments about this product- Please note:
- A power supply does not come included.
- If you already have Ableton Live (Lite) it must be version 10 or greater to be compatible with Launchkey Mini. Launchkey Mini will also work as a standard MIDI controller.
- As of the 1st of March, 2022, a two month subscription to Splice is no longer part of the included software package.

As a relative beginner, I have to say that so far, this appears to be everything I was hoping for:
* The keyboard are compact, but keys are still big enough to not impact on playing
* The pads are highly responsive
* The pack-in software works seamlessly with the keyboard, with the features of the board designed to tightly couple with Ableton Live
Early days but this is exactly what I was looking for - a feature-packed midi keyboard/controller for beginners, as a great price!

Het veelzijdige instrument is heel compact en dus gemakkelijk om het gewoon in je rugzak te steken en er mee op stap te gaan. Het is ook goed dat er een Sustain output is zodat je nog mooier kan spelen.
De Midi output gebruik ik zelf niet maar kan wel handig zijn voor andere gebruikers.
De reden dat ik de Launckey Mini MK3 heb gekocht zijn de 16 aanslaggevoelige RGB backlit pads.
Dit aantal pads vind je niet bij veel andere Midi keyboards.
Het enige minpuntje dat ik kan geven is dat de acht draaiknoppen geen endless encoders zijn maar ze voelen toch nog stevig aan.

De launchkey is vooral gebouwd om samen te werken met Ableton Live, maar werkt prima samen met andere apparatuur en zelfs standalone als je een powerbank hebt. Het softwarepakket is niet veel bijzonders als je al een of meerdere producten gekocht hebt van Novation, maar maakt het voor de beginner een uitstekende keuze voor eerste midi keyboard.

Apparaat zit vol mogelijkheden, ontbreekt niets aan. Sommige knoppen zijn een beetje wiebelig.

Voor het begin wat veel functies, moet het nog allemaal ontdekken, maar dat zal de toekomst leren. Daarnaast is het wel wennen dat het een Ableton product is, waardoor het niet optimaal werkt bij FL Studio, maar daar kun je alsnog een weg in vinden
Als je Ableton gebruikt: aanrader. Compact, hoop functies voor een lage prijs.
FL studio: aanrader, even wennen maar je komt er wel uit.
