Keyboard Flight Cases, Covers & Bags information

Weddings, parties, and concerts—these are just a few locations where music plays an important role, and keyboard players are often part of that musical entertainment. It goes without saying, therefore, that transportation is necessary, which calls for proper protection. Here, we offer three possible ways to protect and transport your keyboard safely.

The most robust solution is a flight case. Your keyboard, workstation, drawbar keyboard or synthesizer is protected optimally against any damage that could be caused by the elements, or from being knocked around in the back of a tour bus. Flight cases are made of wood and synthetic materials with a soft padded lining on the inside. A soft bag may be less rugged, but it will also protect your keys, and the overall weight is then considerably less than a flight case. In both instances, there is room for accessories like a sustain pedal, audio cables, sheet music, and USB sticks.

A great advantage of both a flight case and a bag is its handle. An 88-note keyboard may be necessary for your performance, but it's hardly easy to carry! A keyboard case or bag offers not only a handle, but in some cases also wheels, for even easier transport.

A third type of protection is a keyboard cover. This is the best solution if your keyboard has a fixed spot at home or in the studio, for instance. Should you need to move it, a cover is all you need if you're quickly moving your keyboard inside from your car, for example.
