The Coma Strat: The Trusty Sidekick of a Legendary Session Guitarist
Throughout his session and solo career, Landau was never seen without his Stratocaster: a 1959 model he affectionately calls 'Coma'. The story of the Coma Stratocaster began when a sixteen-year-old Landau stepped into a nondescript music shop in Los Angeles and picked up his first Strat. Since it had already been given a few modifications, Mike didn't shy away from adding a few tweaks of his own as his career bloomed. The Fender Stories Collection Michael Landau Coma Stratocaster features the same hardware and electronics as the OG model is equipped with today, including a custom ML CuNiFe Wide Range humbucker and two ML Ultra Noiseless Strat single-coils. It also comes complete with a Navy Blue case and some tasty case candy.
