Focusrite Presents the high-end Red 4Pre Thunderbolt Audio Interface
Focusrite is a familiar name in the pro audio world. They're well-known for offering products with top-quality audio at reasonable prices. With the introduction of the Red 4Pre Thunderbolt audio interface however, they're aiming at the high end of the professional audio market. This means that there are some very exciting and unique features contained within its attractive 19-inch housing.
Connectiion possibilities
In addition to two Thunderbolt 2 ports for lightning-fast data transfer with minimal latency, the 4Pre also has two DigiLink connectors on the rear. With these, you can make a direct connection with Pro Tools HD systems, which is handy considering that you can now operate everything from a single interface without the need for any other peripherals. These can also be used with Focusrite's own RedNet 5 connectivity mode. You're even prepared for the future of audio distribution and exchange via Dante using the two ethernet ports on the rear of the Red 4Pre. 
Outstanding preamps
The Red4 Pre features four Red Evolution preamps that are software driven and deliver an impressive 63 dB of gain. They also have an exceptionally high signal-to-noise ratio thanks to two parallel converters and 24-bit, 192kHz audio conversion for an accurate and natural sound with minimal noise and distortion. On top of that, an effect known as Air recreates the sound of the transformer based mic preamps in the ISA range.
