MOTU Presents New Audio Interfaces
MOTU launches two new Thunderbolt/USB 3 audio interfaces, namely the MOTU 624 and the MOTU 8A, both with an impressive list of features. These devices really stand out in the crowd, not only because of their individual specifications, but also because of what they have in common.
MOTU 624
First of all, there's the MOTU 624. This interface is equipped with super-fast Thunderbolt and USB 3.0 ports. It offers eight analogue inputs and outputs and can be expanded by another eight via ADAT. Furthermore, AVB Ethernet is supported via a CAT5 cable so you can transmit a large number of audio channels over your network, you can also connect a second interface.
MOTU 8A AVB
Basically, the MOTU 8A offers the same functionality as the 624, but has eight TRS inputs and outputs while the latter has two XLR. It's particularly ideal for musicians with line instruments to use for recording or as a preamp. Both interfaces come complete with software but also function in standalone mode, and you can use your smartphone, laptop or tablet to control them from a distance.
