Musikmesse 2016: Nord Unveils the Drum 3 and 3P
Even before the Musikmesse in Frankfurt had officially started, the Swedish company Nord came out with two new products: the Nord Drum 3 drum module and the Nord Drum 3P percussion pad. Nord already convinced us that they make good modelling percussion synthesizers with the Nord Drum 2 and the Nord Pad. Now, they've taken it to the next level with the Nord Drum 3 and 3P.
Nord Drum 3 drum module
On the right-hand side of the photo you'll see the Nord Drum 3 drum module. This module is equipped with six trigger inputs, so you can connect to just about any drum pad or trigger. Ten categories with individual samples of kicks, toms, snares, cymbals, percussion, effects, tuned percussion and more mean that you can easily compose your own kits and save them for future use. Thanks to the midi in and out, you can also use the module as a 6-channel trigger interface. The module is furthermore equipped with a variety of effects, such as reverb, delay, distortion, and an EQ that you can adjust per channel or group. The Nord Drum 3 is the ideal module for drummers who want to upgrade their current electronic kit with a better drum module, and it also makes a great tool for song writers and producers during (studio) writing sessions.
Nord Drum 3P percussion pad
On the left-hand side of the photo you'll see the Nord Drum 3P percussion pad. It actually has all the same possibilities as the Nord Drum 3, with the biggest difference being the addition of six velocity-sensitive drum pads, and the option to connect a kick pedal. You can also go crazy editing samples and making your own kits with the Nord Drum 3P. You don't need to be worried about having trouble transporting it either, because it weighs in at a mere 2 kilograms The Nord Drum 3P percussion pad is the ideal addition to an acoustic drum kit. We have no doubts that percussionists and keyboardists will be excited about the possibilities of the Nord Drum 3P!
