NAMM 2016: Yamaha MIDI via Bluetooth LE

It sounds a little strange, don't you think? A Bluetooth product that works with a cable! Yet that's exactly what Yamaha has given us with these wireless MIDI products that work via Bluetooth. The UD-BT01 and the MD-BT01 are anything but strange, however.

They are actually very straightforward products that need little explanation. The UD-BT01 can be connected to the USB-A port on your (master) keyboard or synthesizer. The MIDI signal is then wirelessly sent to the receiver via Bluetooth. The receiver is iOS 9.2 or Mac OS 10.10 (Yosemite). The MD-BT01 works in exactly the same way, only it connects to the DIN-MIDI on your (master) keyboard or synthesizer instead.

It's as easy as that!
