QSC Introduce New K.2 Series Speakers with the K8.2, K10.2, K12.2 and KS212C
QSC already introduced the KS212C at NAMM 2017 and, following on from Musikmesse 2017, they've now announced the rest of the new K.2 series. The K8.2, K10.2 and K12.2 are the successors to the active speakers in the K series. They're easier to use, more versatile than ever and they look pretty good too!
Power and connectors
Compared to the old K series, QSC have given the new models even more power with all three having a Class D amplifier that is capable of producing 2000 watts of power. The K12.2 is the largest of the three new models and has a 12-inch woofer. The K10.2 has a 10-inch woofer and the smallest model, the K8.2, has an 8-inch woofer. All three have two XLR/TRS combo inputs (one with Hi-Z) and a mini jack input. The mic signals can be sent to separate locations if desired. The design of these speakers allow them to easily be used as floor monitors and with a range of options to tweak the sound to perfection, they're very versatile.
Focused lows
The KS212C is an active cardioid subwoofer that was already announced during NAMM and it's now been officially released. Thanks to the technology used this sub's low tones are focused towards the front meaning that less sound is lost out the back and sides of its housing.
