Summer Strats from Fender!
This summer, Fender is presenting no fewer than twelve new Stratocaster models! The new models include four Deluxe Strats, four Deluxe HSS Strats and four Deluxe Roadhouse Strats.
Every Fender Deluxe model is built with a body made of ash or alder and a maple neck for the classic Fender sound. A 12-inch fretboard radius and a bevelled heel ensures that each of the 22 frets is easy to play. The size of the radius also means that lowering the strings is possible to facilitate easier note bending and faster playing. Short post locking machine heads offer excellent tuning stability. All twelve of the new models announced have the characteristics mentioned above. So, what are the differences?
Fender Deluxe Stratocaster
At first sight, the Fender Deluxe Stratocaster looks like just any other standard Strat. Look a little closer though, and you'll start to notice details like the subtle push button that gives you extra options when using the pickup switch. When the button is pushed, the bridge pickup will be added to the pickup setting selected. This means that you can combine the bridge pickup with the neck pickup for sounds you wouldn’t normally get on a Strat. No matter which setting you use, the sound will be noise-free thanks to the Fender Vintage Noiseless pickups. The Fender Deluxe Stratocaster is available in four different colours: 2-Color Sunburst, Black, Vintage Blonde, and Sapphire Blue Transparent.
Fender Deluxe Strat HSS
For Fender fans who love the sound of a humbucker, there's the Fender Deluxe Strat HSS. As well as two single-coil Fender Vintage Noiseless pickups in the neck and middle positions, this model has a Fender Twin Head humbucker in the bridge position for a thicker vintage-style sound. If you decide you want a single-coil sound in the bridge position instead however, simply flick the S1 switch on the volume control to split the humbucker's sound. The Fender Deluxe Strat HSS comes in four colours: Candy Apple Red, Tungsten, Tobacco Sunburst, and Blizzard Pearl.
Fender Deluxe Roadhouse Strat
If the extra switch and/or humbucker options on the above models aren't modern enough for you, perhaps the Fender Deluxe Roadhouse Stratocaster is more your cup of tea. The Roadhouse Strat has Fender's V6 system on board, which offers a broad palette of sounds. The V6 is a preamplifier with 6 modes that can be activated by turning a knob that's disguised as a tone control. The preamp is powered by a 9V battery. When you prefer a pure Fender Vintage Noiseless single-coil sound, simply bypass the V6 system by pushing the S1 switch in on the volume knob. Just like the other models, the Fender Deluxe Roadhouse Stratocaster comes in four different colours, 3-Tone Sunburst, Mystic Ice Blue, Olympic White, and Classic Copper.
