The New GoPro HERO4 Session Model
This is not just any new GoPro. No, this is the smallest GoPro yet: the GoPro HERO4 Session! What's even more remarkable, however, is that it offers the exact same recording quality and nearly all the same features as its larger siblings. And did we mention that it's waterproof up to 33 feet deep?
Compact camera
50% smaller and 40% lighter than a regular HERO4, what more could you want? It comes with a standard holder, four attachments and - for situations that require subtlety and optimal comfort - an extra small holder. Positioning the camera is easy and smooth. It also comes with a USB cable for charging the battery, which lasts about 2.5 hours on average.
Resolution and frames per second
With the HERO 4 Session, you can record high-quality video and take high-resolution photographs. You can set the number of frames per second from 30fps up to a whopping 120fps, and the possible resolutions range from WVGA (848 x 480) up to 1440p (1920 x 1140). Another interesting feature is the SuperView option, which allows for an extra wide angle. Furthermore, you can also take 8 megapixel photos, time lapse photos with intervals ranging from 0.5 to 60 seconds, or a burst shot with 10 frames per second.
Remote control
Install the free GoPro app on your smartphone (as long as its WiFi or Bluetooth compatible) or purchase the Smart Remote to change settings, take pictures and start/stop recordings at a distance. Of course, you won't always have your phone or remote control at hand, so the camera itself also features a practical and easy-to-reach button. Another great addition is the HiLight Tag function, which allows you to tag important moments while you're recording. This means that you won't have to look through hours of video when you're trying to edit it afterwards.
Mics and mounts
There are two microphones built into the session: one on the front, and one on the back. The camera will automatically pick the one that's best suited for any given situation. That's quite a handy feature when you're recording in a windy environment, as the camera will automatically select the side which has the least wind noise. Finally, the camera is also compatible with all GoPro mounts, so whether you use it while making music or working out, the HERO4 Session will be right there with you!
