Showtec's Floodlight HQ 400 outdoor lighting is a spotlight with an asymmetrical shape, which allows it to cast its light further than a symmetrical spotlight. This makes the HQ 400 excellently suited for parking lots and other large open spaces. It has a die-cast aluminium housing that is provided with a mounting bracket, so that you can easily mount the spotlight on a truss or pillar, for instance. The Floodlight is also equipped with an internal connector terminal with pull relief, which protects the conductors of the lamp, as the locking cable jacket keeps forces that pull at the cable at bay.
Gas-discharge lamp
A separate lamp is included when you order the spotlight: the Showtec Floodlight HQ 400 gas-discharge lamp. You can easily mount it and the lamp is protected against dust and water, giving it an IP-65 rating. It is an hydrargyrum quartz iodide (HQI) lamp and you can easily plug it into an E40 socket within the spotlight. The lamp has a warm-up time of five minutes, before you can use it to its full extent. This is beneficial for the efficiency and life span of the lamp, but when you turn it off and want to turn it on again, you will have to wait for ten minutes. You might think that this is a long time, but it does protect the lamp so that it can produce a bright light with a colour temperature of 4,000 K for approx. 12,000 hours.
