Somewhere in the distant past, picks were made from tortoise shells. Dunlop refers to this subtly with the Tortex Standard series (which has a turtle symbol as its logo). This series consists of durable plectrums that form themselves to your strumming style and grip.
This blue Tortex is a little thicker than your average plectrum. The Tortex Standard series also has a grip layer that gives you a better grip on your plectrum.
