General

The Zoom APH-4n is the ultimate set of accessories for the Zoom H4N handheld recorder. This set includes a windscreen, that counters annoying noises caused by wind and breath getting into the microphone. A remote control with a long cable, which controls the recorder’s main functions, is also included. This comes in handy when the recorder is suspended in a difficult-to-reach position, but also prevents the sound of you touching the recorder’s button being recorded.

Hot shoe mount and cables
If you want to connect your Zoom H4N to a video camera or another device with hot shoe, the hot shoe mount will come in handy. You are also supplied with a few cables with the APH-4n: in order to let a fitting recording volume go straight to your camera, you can use the attenuator cable. The splitter cable is handy if you want to send the sound of the H4n to your camera and headphones at the same time.

Deze accessoires gekocht voor de Tascam DR-40, dus de afstandsbediening heb ik niet getest maar de windkap (dead cat) werkt ook daar prima, en de splitter plus kabel zijn handig om zowel een koptelefoon aan te sluiten als een kabeltje naar de camera te laten lopen. De hotshoe adapter werkt goed, al hoor je het wel in de opname met de recorder als je de camera aanraakt, er is dus geen demping tussen camera en recorder en daarmee is het niet echt handig voor opnamen uit de hand. Voor deze prijs is de set een goede koop.

Ik heb nog nooit een seconde gefilmd maar het pakket toch gekocht. Zou het zo weer doen.

Prima RC en ach, over dat wat dunne draadje ga ik niet zeuren. Het handige verbindingskabeltje gebruik ik om mijn van Iphone gesprekken op te nemen. De windkap is oneindig veel beter dan het flutding dat bij de recorder zat. De spitter gebruik ik voor heel wat anders en de shoe heb ik aan mij filmende buurman gegeven.

Geen geld voor zo'n pretpakket. Wie zo'n recorder heeft en dit doosje met handigheden niet aanschaft doet zichzelf te kort. Geloof me want ik bent een echte krent.

Een nadeel van video en DSLR is dat bij de meeste camera's geluid als secundair wordt beschouwd. Je hebt out of the box vaak geen vu meter waarop je kan kijken of je geluid goed en niet te hard binnenkomt. Bij deze set zit een kabeltje dat dit euvel weghaalt. Alleen dit kabeltje dat voor een goed gelimiteerd signaal naar je camera zorgt is het geld voor deze set al waard.

De hotshoe mount zorgt daarnaast dat je je Zoom H4N goed op je camera kan mounten.

Met behulp van het t-split kabeltje kan je het geluid aftappen naar bijv. een hoofdtelefoon voor monitoring.

Zelf gebruik ik de remote niet.

De set is goed gesprijst. Hij is niet weg te denken is bij videoopnames met een DSLR.
