BBNE2: Ergonomic Neck-Through Body

The Yamaha BBNE2 is a 5-string electric bass guitar with a sleek, streamlined body designed for optimal playing comfort. The body is made of alder with a maple top, giving it a wicked sound with outstanding definition, and the 5-part maple and mahogany neck runs through the entire body to offer ultimate stability and sustain. A 24-fret ebony fingerboard with attractive mother-of-pearl block inlays equips the neck, and the bridge of the BBNE2 is composed of five individual saddles to ensure that the vibrations of individual strings don't work against on another, so you get the purest tone possible. The combination of the neck-through construction and individual machined saddles work together to produce clear, focused notes with rich harmonies.

Stacked Humbuckers and Active Electronics

The BBNE has been mounted with stacked humbuckers: they look like single-coils but they actually have two coils stacked on top of one another. This gives them the full, deep humbucker sound without the annoying hum of a traditional single-coil pickup. Additionally, the BBNE2 is fitted with active electronics and a special circuit based on Nathan East's Magic Box parametric equalizer pedal. With the switch you can turn this EQ on or off, and with the little black button you can cut off or accent the mid-frequency. The five golden rotary knobs toggle pickup blend, volume, bass, mids and treble. In short, you have more than needed or ever expected to shape the ultimate bass sound.
