Wrote the following about Yamaha TRBX204 Old Violin Sunburst active bass guitar

Mijn eerste basgitaar na jarenlang gitaarervaring. Perfect voor een beginner zoals ik. Mooie afwerking en prachtmodel. De Old Violin vond ik veruit de mooiste van deze serie.

Een half jaar geleden nog 60 euro goedkoper dus prima prijs dacht ik zo. Nog steeds trouwens.

Wrote the following about Yamaha TRBX204 Old Violin Sunburst active bass guitar

Yamaha was een oude liefde van me; mijn eerste basgitaar ooit (RBX-50) was ook van dat merk.

Net als in dat grijze verleden is de afwerking weer uitmuntend. De klank en de mogelijkheden van deze moderne basgitaar kun je echter niet vergelijken met mijn oude beestje: deze is moderner en geeft veel meer 'punch'.

De actieve toonregeling is 'always on'; er is geen aan/uit schakelaar. Ik mis die totaal niet; de regelmogelijkheden van het actieve circuit zijn perfect gekozen. Ik heb nog vier andere basgitaren met actieve circuits, waaronder een tweetal uit het dure segment, maar deze Yamaha doet daar niet voor onder.

Resumé: hoewel de TRBX204 officieel in het budgetsegment valt is dat in de praktijk op geen enkele manier te merken. Het enige waar ik een tikje van baal is dat er geen fretloze versie van is. Ik zou die blind aanschaffen.
