Excellent gigging Bass guitar. Great range of sounds; the neck is great, and it's not too heavy. Absolutely love this guitar - for the money, it can't be beaten.

Mooie, goed afgewerkte basgitaar. Goeie klanken, handig met de 5-weg schakelaar, min puntje is het volume verschil tussen de standen maar niet onoverkomelijk. Actieve 2 weg eq voor het finetunen. Had eerst de 5-snaar gekocht en omdat ik daar zo tevreden over was heb ik nu de 4-snaar gekocht.

Vorig jaar door mij bij BAX aangeschaft en bedoeld als 3e back up bas.

Mede op basis van you tube filmpjes nam ik de gok om de Yamaha TRBX 304 online te bestellen met in het achterhoofd mijn goede ervaringen met de BB 414 en BB 614. Yamaha staat, los van het type basgeluid, immers altijd garant voor kwaliteit en afwerking.

De TRBX 301 kwam afgesteld uit de doosverpakking (die overigens binnen 1 dag werd bezorgd) en wat me opviel was het relatief laag gewicht.
De hals is prima bespeelbaar en de gimmick van deze bas de pickup switch voor de soapbars gimmick zijn wel aardig en bruikbaar.
De bas is duidelijk bedoeld voor de beginner.

De keuze van het hout en de afhankelijkheid van de electronica bepalen de " handtekening" van deze bas : namelijk typisch Yamaha netjes afgewerkt maar ietwat kleurloos en body en diepte ontberend.

De brug is weer wel een pluspunt want de tonen klinken wel strak door. Een goede balans , geen neck diving, de mechanieken zijn redelijk.

In de live bandbezetting komt de bas wel goed door maar je hoort gewoon de electronica en niet echt het hout zelf. Zeg maar een beetje opgepompt geluid waar je van moet houden. Hij wil maar niet grooven en een vette douw geven. Net niet door de bandmix, maar ook weer niet vaag of ongedefinieerd.

Ik ben wellicht wat bevooroordeeld want ik speel al een paar jaar met de Ibanez BTB 670 , de Fame Baphomet IV en de Cort B4. Alle drie ook actief maar de BTB en de Fame klinken ondanks de techniek toch ook erg " houts" waar ik zo van houd.

Terug naar de 304 : je krijgt de kwaliteit waar je voor betaalt en in dit geval is dat meer dan oke.
Je leest vaak op het web: " de bas klinkt als een 3 x zo dure bas" , maar deze Yamaha klinkt precies in verhouding tot de aanschafprijs...

Het is voor amateurs bedoeld , die echter voor het geld een goed afgewerkt product krijgen. Een bas die in mijn beleving " neutraal " klinkt en te licht.

Heb je een budget van 300 euro en wil je per se nieuw hebben, dan is deze Yamaha een prima tegenkandidaat voor bijvoorbeeld de Squiers VM of de Warwick Rockbasjes.
