General
The American-made Gibson Modern Collection ES-339 has all the tonal character of an ES-335 and the snug comfort of a slimline solidbody. The more compact body of this semi-acoustic thinline archtop has been built by a 3-ply maple and poplar soundboard, back and sides to ensure that it's just as resonant as its cousin, while offering that more manageable feel. This modern classic comes complete with a hardshell case and Gibson Accessory Kit.
The ES-339: Stable Vintage Tone
The neck of the ES-339 bears the same vintage C-profile as any of the larger Gibson hollowbodies, and the 12" radius of the rosewood fretboard and 22 medium jumbo frets only add to the already comfy feel. The slightly brighter acoustic foundation of this model is perfectly balanced by the deep, cream-filled tone of the '57 Classic humbucker at the neck, and the solid and heavy bottom-end of the '57 Classic+ humbucker at the bridge, while the tuning and intonation has the solid and stable support of a set of nickel-plated Grover Rotomatic tuners, an ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge, Stop Bar tailpiece, and a GraphTech nut.
