Ibanez AF55-TF Artcore Hollow-Body

This is a lovely guitar, the retro finish is gorgeous and seems flawless as far as I can tell. Set up nicely out of the box, just needed to tune up and play, no loose bits, rattles or squeaks evident at all. Beautifully finished. Overall playability is excellent, fairly low action and relatively narrow neck helps with this, but the tone is bright and clear whether plugged in or played acoustically. It's great to have the option of being played acoustically for practice or a quick grab and play session, but with the amplified possibilities also there to explore. Worth noting the excellent price from Bax Music, and it was delivered without charge by courier 2 days after ordering, securely and safely packed.

A beautiful guitar at this price ! I've been looking for a full hollow body for quite a while and didn't want to break the bank so kept coming back to this Ibanez Artcore. Played very well straight out of the box with a pretty low action and a lovely warm tone when played just acoustically. No need to plug this in for practice. I couldn't fault the matt finish as it doesn't show smudgy fingerprints and looks more vintage/retro to my mind but I guess looks are subjective. Plugged in it's equally as good sounding and super simple with just volume and tone knobs plus pick up selector toggle which can give a lovely woody twang to the whole proceedings.

Would have liked a bit of ivory coloured banding around the f slots if I were being super picky to match the edges, but again, at this price I'd certainly forgive that ! So, to sum up, built to a price, yes indeed but I think you could spend a whole lot more with the same end result.
