Once upon a time, if they wanted to rehearse, perform or give a lecture in low light, musicians and speakers were forced to read their music or notes by candlelight. Luckily, modern innovation has given us the light bulb, and from there, it gave us the table lamp, and from there, we came to the dedicated music stand lamp.
Clip-On, Battery-Powered or LED Music Stand Lights
The most important difference between music stand lamps is the way they can be set up. So, you can get plenty of models that feature some sort of clip or clamping mechanism that can be secured to the edge of a lectern or music stand, which is especially useful for orchestral musicians. Some have a stable foot so the lamp can simply be placed where it's needed, whether it's on top of a piano or on a side table. Most music stand lamps will also have a 'gooseneck' which is a long, thin and really flexible mount that can be moved every which way to direct the lamp wherever light is needed. Most modern lamps will come fitted with efficient LED bulbs, which will usually emit warm white light, neutral white light or cold white light. If you need any other extra bits and pieces, you can find them in our range of Sheet Music Accessories.
