Next to WaveLab Pro 9 for professional studio engineers, Steinberg has developed WaveLab Elements 9 specifically for amateurs and home-studio producers. Don't think that means this version has any less to offer, though. On the contrary! It's got everything you could possibly need! If you don't want to deal with an unlimited number of tracks and find 18 real-time VST effects more than enough for your projects, then WaveLab Elements 9 is ideal for you. This package offers a sample rate of 96 kHz and features the powerful MasterRig pack of plugins for professional-sounding mastering.
Improved user interface
Just like in the Pro edition, the WaveLab Elements user interface has been completely redesigned. Now, it's contained within a single window, which cleans up your screen considerably. Everything revolves around a faster and more efficient workflow so you can fully concentrate on the creative aspects of making and producing music. The auto-relay options, for instance, are sure to make your life easier, and the handles on the audio clips ensure quick and easy editing.
Optimised for exchange
If you're already using Cubase or Nuendo, you can exchange projects easily using WaveLab Exchange, which has also been improved as opposed to earlier versions. It means you can now create your own mixing and mastering workflow without having to switch between windows. Another added bonus is the presence of a complete CD-burning function for backing up your projects. WaveLab Elements 9 also boasts excellent support for metadata in all kinds of formats.
Tips or comments about this product- If you already own WaveLab version 7, 8 or 8.5 that was activated between February 2nd and March 14th, 2015, or on or after March 15th, 2016, then you're eligible for a free upgrade to the latest version.

Elements is daarbij voor mij voldoende. (en de upgrade naar 'full' te duur...)
Wavelab krijgt van mij vijf sterren voor alle mogelijkheden en de kwaliteit.
Ik kwam van een wat oudere versie en het was even zoeken waar alles zit maar het meeste is snel gevonden, ook zonder handleiding.
De samenwerking met mijn Native-instruments Komplete Audio 6 geeft wat problemen.
Als ik audio wil afspelen krijg ik soms een runtime error en moet ik het programma sluiten.
Een oplossing is om in Wavelab niet de ASIO-drivers te gebruiken maar de MME-drivers.
(MME is niet slechter dan ASIO. Het kan alleen enkele milliseconden langzamer zijn maar dat is WAVELAB niet erg, in tegenstelling tot bv een sequencer als Cubase.)

The well-known WaveLab Pro and Elements editions of this software have been the cream of the crop for years, after all. Recently, Steinberg launched a new line of programs called WaveLab Pro 9 and WaveLab Elements 9, focusing on both the professional studio engineer (Pro 9) and the home-studio producer (Elements 9). Make no mistake, we're talking about full new editions, not just updates. You'll find a number of interesting improvements on the previous editions of these two programs.
