Primacoustic has designed their sound isolation sets with home studios or home theatre systems in mind. The London 8 room kit is an attractively priced, high-quality set provides excellent sound absorption and is suitable for rooms that are no bigger than 9.3 metres square.
No matter what studio you work in, you will encounter the same issues with acoustics, unless you mount sound absorbing materials on the walls. Whether your main issue are those annoying primary reflections, the flutter echo, or standing waves - isolation is a must! The London 8 room kit is a complete acoustic treatment set that works like a charm, and on top of that offers a chic look all at an affordable price. The Broadway panels will prevent any unwanted echo or flutter, and will provide you with dry and natural acoustics. Moreover, Primacoustic claims that these high-density fiberglass panels offer an absorption that is almost five times greater than that of other affordable options on the market.
In the early '70s studio engineers discovered that studios that were fully covered in sound absorbing materials provided an unnatural sound in real-life situations. From then on, rooms were only partly covered, and the covered part was called the dead end, because that's where the sound had a dry, dead character. The uncovered part that was left was called the live end, due to the lively, more open sound. These two concepts combined form the LEDE (Live End/Dead End) principle, which proved to be very successful. All Primacoustic room kits have been developed on the basis of this principle.
