General
The active 8030C studio monitor by Genelec is the enhanced version of the 8030BPM nearfield. It's compact, but delivers an impressive amount of power as well as a broad frequency range, making it ideal for home studios and surround-sound systems, for instance. The housing is made of moulded aluminium. Combined with the Directivity Control Waveguide (DCW), this ensures an optimal balance of frequencies in spaces with particularly tricky acoustics. By connecting a compatible subwoofer to the 8030C, you can further expand on its low frequency range. Furthermore, this monitor has ISS (Intelligent Signal Sensing) functionality which shuts the unit off automatically after a period of inactivity, keeping energy consumption to a minimum.
