If you want to start vlogging, you're going to need a smartphone with a lot of memory and good recording quality. Of course, you can also use a video camera or webcam. If the audio quality isn't up to par, you may want to invest in an external microphone. Microphones with USB or mini jack connectors can connect directly to your laptop, so if you choose one that doesn't have one of these types of connectors then you'll need an external audio interface. You can simply connect the mic to your external sound card, and then connect the interface to your computer via USB. It's also a good idea to get a nice set of headphones for monitoring your audio recordings in detail; plus, headphones make it easy to edit audio without bothering the people around you. If you work alone, however, you might prefer working with monitoring speakers. Use the appropriate software to edit your audio and video.
