The tenor recorder is a rather low-sounding recorder, tuned in the key of C. It is tuned a perfect fifth higher than the bass recorder, a perfect fourth lower than the treble recorder and a whole octave lower than the Soprano Recorder. Most tenor recorders are not only equipped with holes but also with a key.
