The most common UTP internet cables are the Cat5e cables. This kind of cable is capable of faster data transfer speeds (in gigabytes) than the cables that came before it, and is less sensitive to interference. The most current edition is the Cat6 cable, which supports speeds of up to 10GBps and is even more resistant to interference.
