Did you know that PA speakers sound much better when they're set up at the right height? And that stability also matters when it comes to sound reproduction? Speaker stands not only provide a place for your speakers, but can actually help tighten up the sound and save space.
Speaker Stands
Low frequencies tend to travel through spaces quite easily, while higher frequencies are more easily blocked. That's why it's important to place full-range speakers at the correct height. In concert venues, for example, the ideal height is just above the audience. That can be achieved with speaker stands, or with a distance rod if the speaker is mounted on top of a subwoofer. For larger speakers, we've got wind-up speaker stands too. At the correct height, the entire sound will be dispersed throughout a room more effectively. For an even better look, we've also got Speaker Stand Covers.
Weight Capacity & Mounting Options
While most speaker stands look quite similar, the differences between them can be very important. The weight that each stand can handle is one of the biggest considerations, but attention also has to be paid to the mounting options of both the stand and the speaker. Most models built for stage use have 35mm pole mounts. If you're looking for matching stands for studio monitors instead, check out our range of Studio Monitor Stands.
Speaker Wall Mounts
In some cases, it's simply better to mount your speakers on the wall so that they don't take up any more space than necessary and so you can point them in the right direction. Go to our range of Studio Monitor Mounting Brackets or PA Speaker Mounting Brackets to find the right type of wall mount for your gear. Universal Speaker Stands
When it comes to studio monitors, you can basically use any stand as long as the actual speaker platform is big enough to accommodate your monitor. Universal monitor/speaker stands can sometimes be used for something like a guitar amplifier or PA speaker too. In most cases, these stands can be tilted to change the angle and aim your speaker directly at your (or the musician's) ears for optimum monitoring/sound dispersion.
