General

The Pearl e/MERGE drum kit has been developed alongside Korg - the name behind the legendary Wave Drums, resulting in an e-kit that brings ultra-real sound and outstanding playability thanks to the insanely natural rebound of specially developed PUREtouch pads. These pads have a six-layer construction and feature Wave Trigger technology which ensures that where the head is struck, the way it's struck, the type of sticks you're playing with and even the drumhead tension all have an influence over the triggered sound. Basically, this means you're getting near-enough the same varied response as an acoustic kit, and that's on top of the dual-trigger rims which support rim shots as well as clicks. The e/TRADITIONAL Plus edition comes with a kick pad, three toms, a 14 inch snare, a dual-zone hi-hat that's compatible with any standard hi-hat stand, a dual-zone crash with choke function (shoulder and edge), and a triple-zone ride with choke function (bell, shoulder and edge).

The Pearl MDL-1 Drum Module

Every sample loaded into the MDL-1 module was recorded in one of the most renowned recording studios in Nashville, Tennessee - all 700 of them. The library spans the vintage as well as the modern, includes the sound of some iconic Pearl kits, and even covers the sound of some of the most instantly recognisable drum beats from specific genres and classic songs. To ease you in, drummers are set up with thirty-five pre-configured kits, but all of them can be edited at will to build entirely custom kits. The control panel has been kept clean, so users can quickly toggle through kits and adjust the thirty-six effects that also come included, and you can even record up twelve hours of ideas and material to the internal memory. In terms of connections, this next-gen module provides an AUX input, line outputs, a headphone output and USB and MIDI ports.
