General

Spitter, spetter, spatter - this '60s outboard spring reverb tank is every surf guitarists' wet dream. The Catalinbread Topanga captures the tone of the Fender 6G15 spring reverb. It is the sound of surf, spaghetti westerns and many other legendary sounds of the '60s. What makes this pedal so special is that it works differently than the spring reverb that you find in most amplifiers. The Topanga sits at the front of the signal chain, making the reverb effect distort and sound more intense. Thanks to Dwell and Tone controls you can adjust the intensity and clarity to your own taste. It's a very special reverb with non-linear sounds. You can even use the volume control to give you a clean boost when you want it.

Topanga: authentic sounds

Catalinbread wanted to develop an external spring reverb with the same functionality as the pedals of yesteryear. To achieve this, no unnecessary buttons were added to retract from the pure experience of using this guitar effect. The Dwell control functions as a volume knob for the springs. High frequencies can be reduced using the Tone control for a subtler, more distant sound. A nice addition is the Mix knob that allows you to adjust the level between a dry and wet signal. Finallly, the volume control can be used to give the entire circuit a great boost. The result is a sound that is as wide as the Topanga Canyon!
