General
Catalinbread offer the Epoch Boost: a pedalboard-friendly version of their iconic Echoplex EP-3 preamp with built-in buffer. The team over at Catalinbread have done everything they could to get the sound of the Epoch Boost as close to perfection as possible, meaning that just like the original EP-3, this fresh and compact preamp comes loaded with NOS Orange Drop condensers. What's different, however, is that the Epoch Boost runs on 22 Volts and provides unprecedented amounts of headroom and sonic brightness. Hook it up to a 9V power supply, and this American-made pedal will happily form the core of your sound.
The Epoch Boost: Your Secret Weapon
When turned all the way up, the Epoch Boost provides a maximum clean boost of 20dB, and let's be honest, that's exactly why we're all here. Well, that and the switchable Hi-Z input buffer which helps to accommodate a serious number of effects pedal and maintain full signal integrity. Whichever way you look at it, the Catalinbread Epoch Boost is more than just a preamp, booster and buffer in one. It's the 'mastering pedal' every guitarist deserves.
