We take a closer look at his creative process, discover how he builds and layers different sounds, and explore the gear he uses to bring his ideas to life – both at home and in the studio. A behind-the-scenes look packed with inspiration and practical insights for your own music. Who is Carston? Meet Carston: a singer, songwriter and producer whose voice cuts straight to the heart. Known for his raw honesty and emotional intensity, he creates music that forges an unfiltered connection with the listener. His distinctive production style blends organic instruments with modern electronic elements, resulting in a sound that feels both unique and timeless. Rooted in pop melodies and heartfelt lyrics, Carston moves effortlessly between genres, from EDM and Afro House to Deep House and beyond. His passion began at just six years old, when he first picked up a guitar, and with every release he keeps pushing the boundaries of his sound. Highlights
The gear Carston usesCarston produces in Logic Pro and also uses Ableton Live when collaborating. His audio interface is a Universal Audio Apollo Twin DUO and his MIDI keyboard an Arturia KeyLab 61. For vocals he reaches for the Shure SM7B, and at home he also records with the Warm Audio WA-251. At home he listens on Focal Lensys headphones, in the studio on a Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro. Young talent: DjDjaryWe met up with young talent DjDjary to find out what he’s been working on, the gear he uses and what he hopes to achieve next. Who is DjDjary? DjDjary is 14 years old, comes from Veendam in the north of the Netherlands and is one of the region’s young talents. He stands out for his speed behind the decks, his strong technique and his energetic presence. In March 2025 he stood behind the decks for the first time, at 2-Join for his mother’s birthday. Since then he has played at several parties and birthdays. In January 2026 he started at DJschool Illianos, where he clicked right away with his teacher Julian. Besides music, he also has a passion for lighting and sound. Highlights
The gear DjDjary usesDjary plays on a Pioneer DJ XDJ-RX3 and an AlphaTheta XDJ-AN, with two Pioneer DJ VM-70 monitors next to the decks.
