While the VM-70 is the follow up to Pioneer's professional S-DJ series monitors, in terms of performance and design, it might as well be a trillion miles away. This active, DJ-focussed monitor has been finished with an angular face-plate that bears a closer resemblance to a club speaker than a DJ or studio monitor, and since the VM-70 comes backed up by a 6.5-inch woofer and 110 Watts of power, it sits in the middle of the range, making it perfect for finishing the audio set-up of medium-sized spaces.

What sets the VM Series monitors so far apart in terms of both acoustic design and performance is that, while they're labelled DJ monitors, they perform with just as much proficiency when set up as studio monitors. This is definitely due to the audio flexibility provided by the digital sound processors. The DSP loaded into each model provides a sweet fistful of unique audio settings that have been specifically calibrated for unique situations. So the low-end and high-end frequencies can be individually adjusted to shape the optimum response depending on the space; to create club-style power, punch, and ground-shaking bass; or to provide the flat, detailed and honest response that's essential for mixing and production.
