General
Most Nektar keyboards are packed with controllers such as faders, encoders and more. Very convenient, but not so much for beginners, as these features generally don't come cheap. That's why Nektar now introduce the SE49: a compact keyboard with 49 touch-sensitive keys and nothing but the bare necessities. Then again, with pitch and modulation wheels, transpose and octave change buttons, a generic MIDI fader and a connector for a separately available sustain pedal, 'bare necessities' probably constitutes a poor choice of words. In essence, the SE49 offers plenty for beginners and even comes including a free DAW license so any novice can genuinely get started right away. The keyboard is USB powered and can be easily taken on the road and supplied with juice via a laptop.

I must say Im very impressed with this keyboard.
I bought it for my sons birthday and he has not been off it since he received it. I was a little apprehensive as it was not a fortune and thought it might not live up to his expectation but it has far exceeded. He is very knowledgable in music creation and has created some fantastic music and has been impressed with the wealth of functions the nektar se49 has to offer. Its very easy to glide between the keyboard and percussion applications. Also even though its not a full size keyboard having only 49 keys its ultra easy to shift the octaves with a press of a button. It also has an red base that we thought looked rather cool? If we can use that word in 2020?
On the down side the keys are perhaps a little noisy to press but it has no effect on the feel or on the music creation itself. Also there is no audible sound from the keyboard as this achieved once connected to a computer / iPad but I wasnt expect that anyway as we knew that would be the case. So to conclude Im giving it five stars considering applications, aesthetics, features and all at such a great price. A terrific piece of kit.

Dit midi-keyboard aangeschaft ter vervanging van de Edirol PCR-80, die niet meer ondersteund wordt onder Windows 10. Goede ondersteuning op de website van Nektartech voor integratie met mijn DAW. Werkt allemaal in 1 keer zonder problemen. Mooi formaat: 80 x 20 cm, betekent dat ik op mijn bureau nog voldoende ruimte overhoud om mijn pc fatsoenlijk te bedienen. De lage prijs voor zo'n goed keyboard is alleen maar mogelijk doordat het in China gebouwd wordt.

Prima MIDI keyboard die doet wat hij moet doen. De toetsen, de overige knoppen en de schuifregelaars voelen goed aan, en werken prima met mijn DAW (Ableton Live 10). Kortom, een prima product waar je voor een nette prijs een uitgebreid MIDI Keyboard krijgt. Er zit zelfs een lange USB kabel bij zodat je deze direct kunt aansluiten op je laptop/desktop.

Voor het geld een prima MIDI-keyboard. Handig om kleine partijen in te spelen. Door de lay-out met 4 octaven kom je niet snel toetsen tekort. Hij is nog leuk om te zien ook.
